2014 : A YEAR REVIEW
It has been a great year for the technology lovers and also to the future of electronics.We have seen the new growth of some new categories as well as advancement in the old. We will look back in time to see how the world shifted in the technology sector.
We will see some defining moments in the technology :
1. Moto 360 :
The first time Motorola released it's teaser for the 360 the fans all around the world went mad about the circle display on the watch. It looks beautiful and the changed the direction of styles of smart-watches from square to round.After the release it took off quite well and made look smart - watches more familiar and blending well in life . 2. Windows Phone 8.1
Though it might not so be considered to the people of this software but Lumia users had the most changing update , with the Denim update coming soon to all devices . 3. Mac OS and iOS 8 :
Apple again making it's mark in the history with just small tweaks and no major Graphical changes to the software part , Apple released the Mac OS X Yosemite for Mac line and the iOS 8 for the mobile devices.The main feature being continuity really enhanced the continuity in the Apple products making them more connected.While Mac OS X made connectivity more popular , the iOS 8 came with widget support as well as more third party supports . 4. Android Lollipop
While Apple was not changing its graphical interface , Android took it all material design. Material Design the new GUI of Android really uplifted Google card type interface , the Lollipop got mixed reviews among the users. 5. Nvidia Shield
Nvidia made its mark in the tabloid world with it's Shield , the most gaming tablet seen. 6. Note 4 & Note 4 Edge
Samsung has always surprised us with their Note line , Note 3 was a huge success and the Note 4 adding more to it. Note 4 came with a fresh design of metal solid body and a more sensitive stylus . Samsung's Note features made the Note more user functionality as well as increased multitasking abilities.Samsung curved screen made it's debut in Note 4 Edge , making both the screen usable and functionality at same time. 7. MOTOROLA
Motorola made a quite phenomenal comeback in 2014 with all the products making successful in all the range of phone.While Motorola released the Moto E for low budget and the Moto G for the mid to low range category and becoming success just after release. 8. iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus
Long wait for a bigger screen iPhone for the Apple fans had finally come with the iPhone 6 & the iPhone 6 + . 9. Apple Watch
Well after the wearable technology on the rise , Apple had to jump in .Apple debuted it's Watch surprising not naming it iWatch but simply Apple Watch. Apple Watch was a delight to watch even in the Demo period with custom smooth software as well as hardware.With new input via the dial of the smart watch it really made benchmarks higher for everyone.The integration was so good that everyone wanted to play with it. 10. Windows 10
Well it had been a long time since the release of a new Windows OS. Microsoft in their event showed off the Windows 10 . While the Windows 10 was in beta mode but was available through developer preview. The Windows 10 really brought back key USP features and as well released some new features making it more productive. While it is not clear when exactly Windows 10 will be released but it might have consumer preview coming soon. First look : Windows 10
11. iPad Air 2
Apple iPad is most successful tablet and with a stable growth in the market. iPad Air last time got the sales up of the iPad and quite literally boosted it. iPad Air 2 is much more lighter than the original Air and feels like feather. iPad Air 2 bought the Touch ID to the iPad line and is the world's thinnest tablet.With the Air 2 Apple doubled every feature of the Air from Camera to even basic things like a faster Wi-Fi. 12. Nokia N1
After acquired by Microsoft this was a shocker by Nokia. The N1 tablet was clearly aiming at what Nokia is heading, the N1 is to be expected to be a great comeback for Nokia into the tablet market.The N1 is still not available and exact dates are not revealed.Nokia N1 looks like an Apple mini but packed with Android inside. 13. Nexus 6
The most anticipated gadget of the year 2014 , the Nexus 6 stole all thunder away .The Nexus 6 is a killer smart phone as expected and made quite for the android lovers. Nexus 6 made up on the backbone of Motorola's Moto X+1 is best you can get . The massive 6 inch display with very less bezel made the Nexus 6 quite a premium product. 14. Nexus 9
The Nexus 9 was unexpected product not because of timing or any other but the screen size was taken in the middle of both the previous Nexus tablets. Overall the Nexus 9 is a great product for the tabloid world making it's competition directly with the Apple iPad. Review : NEXUS
