THE NOTE PHENOMENA

NOTE 4 & EDGE

                   As it was expected Samsung Unpacked episode 2 was about to showcase the next flagship of the Note series and sure it did.The company showcased their new and improved version of Note.The Note started in 2010 has become quite a success and created a whole new category.The Note 3 was a huge hit and was well acclaimed by the users.Due to it's vastly improvement in all areas the Note 3  come out strong in competition.Let's see does the Note 4 live up to the expectations.

                    

                   The company just did not release the Note 4 it also released the Note Edge.The Gear S as well as Gear VR .While the leak of Note 4 is more similar .Let's talk about the Note's.

NOTE 4 

DESIGN :

           Samsung has widely changed the whole look of the Note 4 .The Note 4 has changed it's old plastic feeling body of it's Galaxy's. While the design remains the same as Note 3.It is decked with a thin and sleek metal band on the edges.The corners are curved elegantly. The metal band has a matte finish. The textured leather rear gives good grip and appears highly durable.The rear cover is replaceable and you can choose from various colors. Surprisingly the Note 4 is thicker than the Note 3. 

         The front features a 2.5D glass profile which protrudes out slightly and makes the screen appear like floating when viewed from top. The Note 4 phablet is available in four color variants like the frosted white,charcoal black, bronze gold and blossom pink.We expected the Note 4 to be water as well as dust resistant like the Galaxy S series flagship's.But the company said Note 4 is for productivity and those who need water & dust resistant should go with the S5.

DISPLAY :

            The Note 4 has had a major improvement in the display as comparing it to it's predecessor.The Note 4 has 5.7inch Super AMOLED displays screen which supports quadHD and with an astounding resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. 

                The Note 4 screen supports a 551 ppi which is far more than a human eye can differentiate.After LG G3 this is the only phone to have a quad HD display.But it really looks great compared to the Note 3 and shows quite vibrant and natural colors.

 

 S PEN :

              The S-Pen is quite literally the USP or in other words the selling point of the phone.While the S-Pen of Note 3 was quite good but the new S-Pen  pushes it quite further .The S-Pen has doubled the pressure sensitivity making it feel like a real pen.

The tip of the S-Pen is detachable and users can choose from two options, rubber tip for gaming and multimedia related usage whereas the plastic tip is suitable for writing. The new improved S-Pen can be used from different angles too.

           The S-Pen comes with a new software feature called the Smart Select which allows you to copy certain portions of any website using the stylus and store it online to view or read them later. The S-Pen can be used like a mouse on a computer to drag and select text or pictures in a gallery. The Snap Mode allows user to take a snapshot of something with text on it and then access the very same text on S Note.

 

 CAMERA :

              

               Galaxy Note 4 will be shipped with a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization. It features a single LED flash. The OIS feature springs into action while shooting videos to prevent shakiness. It can record up to 2160p quality videos at 30fps.

The front facing camera is of 3.7MP. It has been designed to take selfie photos. It comes with f/1.9 aperture which makes it possible to snap bright photos in dim lighting conditions. It is even capable of recording good quality 1080p videos. It can snap selfies with an angle of 90 degrees.

The Wide Selfie allows you to compose a selfie which allows you to do more by reaching up to 120 degrees wide angle. The heart rate monitor which sits on the rear side of the phablet can be tapped to shoot a selfie.

BATTERY :

           

             The Korean tech giant has given the Note 4 have battery capacity of 3220 mAh.While Samsung made the battery quite slimmer, but packs a lot of juice.The original upgrade from 3200 mAh to 3220 mAh.Due to fast charging technique ,it takes only 99 minutes to fully charge the Note 4. The Galaxy Note 4 charges 40 minutes faster than the predecessor. Moreover, it is packed with an ultra power saving mode. When this feature is activated, the battery life can be extended by up to 15.2 days. 

                 

            While the Note 4 software remains the same as offered by S5.TouchWiz UI with Android 4.4.4 latest firmware.While the most of the features remain same . 

NOTE 4 EDGE :

              

              Now the Edge is quite similar as the Note 4 .Just with a curved Edge to provide  users quite functionality while handling the phone.The Edge provides quite information and notifications .The Edge features a 6 screens and users can swipe from left to right to change information. The users can customize the screens of the Edge. The user can swipe up and access the tools like torch ,timer and ruler.

                 The Edge can be used in many other ways.The info  like weather and stocks,news feeds etc.. The Note 4 features a clock when the display is off and can be easily watched during bedtime.The SDK of the Edge is released and developers can use this feature to enhance the user experience of apps.

 

       WHILE BOTH NOTE 4 AND EDGE LOOK PROMISING BUT WILL IT BE ABLE TO PUSH-UP SALES OF THE DRIPPING GALAXY'S ??
