NEXUS 6 : REVIEW
The Nexus 6 , the most lovely Android experience Google gives to the world. The Nexus line as been constant in their performance on giving the Android experience to the consumers. Now it is time to go big , first the Samsung started this trend then Apple joined and finally Nexus also got into the trend. Google has made it specifically to compete with the flagships of Apple and Samsung.
Built on the back bone of the Motorola's Moto X but giving it the essence of Google.
The Nexus 6 can be simply be described as " a bigger Moto X ". The phone is really quite big , it's bigger than the iPhone 6 plus and even bigger then the Note 4 .The Nexus 6 has the same design as the Moto X and has the same steel ring on the sides. The Nexus is the same size of iPhone 6 Plus but has a larger screen. The phone feels quite big at start but you tend to feel comfortable after sometime because of the curved back. The Nexus 6 is bigger at the top than the bottom and can wobble when it's kept on the table. The back of the phone is quite plastic but a really good one. One thing about this phone is it is "rigid".
The Nexus has the largest display of 6 inch (5.98 " to be exact) but really it feels large. Now the screen is a Quad HD AMOLED Display with a pixel density of 493 ppi . The screen is as expected an really gives an excellent experience. The display when kept horizontal die give an rainbow colours effect.Expect that the display quality of videos is quite good and no glitches in viewing angle also. The volume rocker and power buttons are quite responsive.Nexus 6 has dual front speakers which give it a stereo effect for the sound and also has moderate sound. The call quality is also quite good.
The phone has got top of the line hardware which includes the snapdragon 805 quad core CPU and also has the Adreno 420 GPU for all those amazing performance. It has a 3 GB of ram to keep it up and is available in 32 or 64 GB variants. The phone is quite smooth when compared and is performing quite well. The gaming experience is quite worthy because of the big screen and the kick-ass processor powering it.The standard micro USB and Bluetooth 4.0 and also has NFC charging.
The camera has always been the taking point for the Nexus series. This time the Nexus has done quite improvements in the camera department. The Nexus 6 has got a 13 MP camera with Moto's dual ring LED . The camera picture is not as good as the iPhone or Note but has improved a lot over. The new camera app is simpler to use as well as the image focus has really surprised us.The quality of the picture is good but only in bright during low light the performance of the camera is simply not up to the mark. The camera features OIS ( optical image stabilization) and also 4K video recording is quite impressive. The front camera featuring of 2 MP is not we expected. Overall the camera still disappoints in the Nexus 6.
The main attraction is the latest Android lollipop , which is the biggest Android release . The nexus 6 has stock Android 5.0 and it is definitely made for it.The software completely supports the hardware, provides a great fluid experience. It is quite shocking that my Nexus 7 or even the Nexus 5 after update is not as smooth as Nexus 6.The screen pinning is a great feature added and also the priority mode which can be set according to your time. The guest mode is not as useful for me but is a great add on.Android 5.0 has onscreen notifications before switching on the phone but is quite laggy and doesn't performs as the way Moto X does.In all the material design is a great look and provides for a simpler interface.
Nexus 6 is given all it is got a 3220 mAh which just hangs around for the less than a day even when the screen is idle. When used at full power the battery varies a lot may be because of the apps not optimized for 5.0 still. But cannot expect a great performance from the battery. Even when the new battery saver mode is ones this annoying red colors is on both sides of screen which feels doesn't right. Due to the project Volta and the turbo charger from Motorola the phone can charge extremely fast but there's a catch when you switch off the phone then only it works as described but when the phone is on and kept charging we don't get the results but it is still faster if compared.
The nexus has always made it's nexus in the mid-up range priced, but this time the Nexus 6 is priced at $649 .The Nexus is for the pure Android fans and those who love stock droid.Comparing it to the iPhone 6 or the Note 4 they both exceed , leaving the iPhone aside if for android the Samsung's camera is top notch and the S pen is factor but the UI "sucks" .For Nexus it's the UI who is really the turning point.Seeing the Nexus 6 it is for the users who want the stock Android and the latest updates from Google and is not so considered for the camera images.
WHAT'S YOUR PIC THE NOTE 4 OR THE NEXUS 6 ???
