NIKE + FUELBAND : REVIEW

NIKE + FUELBAND SE

So  NIKE is coming out again with a great fitness product.NIKE has been quite good in this upcoming market and is consisting increasing it's focus on this category . NIKE + app for  iOS  has been quite successful . NIKE has come out with it's second edition of FUELBAND  and it's quite good from it's previous version. It promises much-improved battery life over its predecessor. When it comes to the physical hardware, however, its appearance has barely changed since 2012.This time it comes out with three new colors (Rose Gold is quite impressive).

Under the surface it packs with a a lot of new features: NIKE + the FuelBand's companion app, is friendlier than ever .It has the ability to group your buddies into separate categories. There are also new hourly reminders to stay active throughout the day.

Nike knows it's FuelBand is quite good and decided not to change it ,but adapted the same design. The FuelBand SE weighs, feels and looks almost identical to 2012 edition.Nike is done the bracelet design that just hangs , better than a wrist type as the sweat is not an issue there but still not that good. The FuelBand SE also houses the same 100-dot LED display as the original, though it whizzes through readouts and options faster than its predecessor. It also automatically adjusts brightness depending on ambient light. This, coupled with Nike's choice of a dot LED interface, remains a stroke of genius. Given the matte finish of the band, there's no reflectivity, meaning I could read the screen in full daylight without any issues.

In the right/left of the display (depending on which hand you use) there's the single button that handles all your navigation needs. Swipe through that to see your Fuel total and clock. Fuel is Nike's own exercise metric -- it's not calories or a pedometer, although you can add these to your FuelBand through either the web interface or iOS app.

Nike also sells the device in three sizes: small, medium/large and x-large. As it happens, the bigger two have a bigger built-in battery (70mAh vs. 50mAh), which means it should last longer.Nike's solved our biggest issue with the original: the fact that you had to charge it every two or three days. With relatively sedentary use, the new model requires a recharge about once a week. Having said that, if you're constantly running marathons and logging sessions, you can expect fewer days on a charge -- from my time with it, around three days.

In terms of sheer functionality, the two biggest changes to the FuelBand are the Sessions and Hours features. The Hours feature remains optional, but once it's on, it'll automatically nag you before the end of each hour to leave your desk and do something to help boost your Fuel total. It's not a huge challenge: You need to pick up five Fuel points every minute, for five minutes, to "Win the Hour."The second new feature, Sessions, is activated by holding onto the band's physical button, which will flash "start" onto the LED dot display. Another tap will send the band into a three-second countdown.

There are still some drawbacks: Because the band is water-resistant, there's no swimming option, and we're not sure how it's able to properly measure a gym workout

THE WORD :

The FuelBand SE's greatest improvement is its battery life, although the new software features add even more ways to monitor how active you are -- and hopefully improve. Nearly two years after the first FuelBand appeared, Nike's social features still make it an easy device to recommend. However, your mileage will vary depending on how many of your buddies are already using Nike+ and how deeply you're looking to track exercise. The FuelBand SE excels at getting not-necessarily sporty types to pay more attention to what they do (or what they should do), and it looks classy while it does it. Other devices offer more information and more features. So, if the old FuelBand didn't quite do enough to WOW you the SE is might change your opinion slightly though

Q : WILL YOU REALLY GET THE NIKE+ OR WAIT FOR MORE BRANDS TO COME IN AND RAISE THE TECHNOLOGY ??

THE MSI GHOST !!!

GS60 GHOST: IT IS A GHOST IN A ULTRABOOK BODY

It's a market that most feel is going down due to company's taking off interest. But every once in a while a gaming product comes out , showing that it is still there.Gaming laptops have seen a decline and mostly only a few names are competing in this market. But it seems to be the trend that the ultra-portable factor is amazed and everyone wants the most of it.As Gamers want a full fledged gaming PC performance , companies are trying to lure them with giving them ultra portability also.
Enough analysis let's see where this stands??

As MSI have previously shown us their capability in gaming ,let's see if they raise the bar .
Until now, the company's lightweight series consisted of one machine Stealth . It was praised for being thin, light and having a more premium feel than most gaming laptops. Enter the GS60 Ghost , it is everything you loved about the Stealth  but with a 15-inch display and NVIDIA's new GeForce GTX 800M series GPU

APPEARANCE :

As most of you think that looks only matter to those who just sit and watch movies or listen to songs , you're wrong every gamer wants his gear to look great and have a premium feel so that the competitors are filled with jealousy after seeing it. The GS60 Ghost does justice to it with its simple design. It has no wacky or unwatched sharp edges or some futuristic design. It has a simple mettalic design at the back and having said that it is also prone to many scratches.Air vents circle around the back of the GS60's slim 0.78-inch frame, quietly teasing the graphical prowess hidden within.Though it is a gaming laptop it is quite thin and light.Though MSI ships with a case to protect it from scratches.

KEYBOARD AND TRACKPAD :

This is were the work comes along it is were there are all the working fingers. Though you might not consider this important but for a gamer the easiness of the keyboard and the track-pa is vital. So MSI is going a point down on this one: MSI has provided it with chiclet layout, there's nothing wrong with its full-sized chiclet layout, and it's certainly not missing any key functions, but the key-caps are marred by an ugly, sharply angled and slightly oversized font . And it is really ugly when you have a look at it.

The notebook's Steel Series-sourced keyboard gives users control over not just the robust LED backlight, but also the specific function of each individual key. The included SteelSeries Engine can reprogram any key (except F1-F12) to launch applications, run customized macros or simply emulate a different keyboard function.
The TrackPad of the GS60 Ghost is quite similar to all the ultrabook in the market. You will get a shock when hearing ; it's button-less. Another letdown, but the fact is most the gamers don't use the pads while they still believe that the traditional mouse is the best.
MSI's implementation seemed stiff and awkward at first; it tracks fingers well enough, but only right-clicks if you press down in the lower-right-hand corner. Turn on multi-touch gestures and two-finger clicking, however, and the pad blossoms into a productivity wunderkind.Unfortunately, it's on a gaming laptop.

DISPLAY AND  SOUND :

Wide viewing angles, bright colors and a non-reflective, matte screen: everything we want in a laptop display and  GS60 has got it all. MSI claims the Ghost's 15.3-inch panel will display accurate colors to any viewer within 85 degrees of the screen . All told, it's bright, beautiful and glare-free is far more important than anything else.
So MSI has given with the default drivers and additional sound boost for the Ghost which gives an above average experience in the sound department.Without the aid of the included Sound Blaster Cinema equalizer, the Ghost's audio has all the fidelity of an AM radio. The sound system does not distort, crackle or buzz at high volumes. There's nothing wrong with them, just that it needed a bit extra as it enhances your gaming performance.

PERFORMANCE AND BATTERY LIFE:

NVIDIA has a habit of outfitting its mobile chips with a mixture of new and old architectures, and its new 800M series is no exception: The GeForce GTX 860M at the GS60's core happens to have both Maxwell and Kepler variants, differentiated by clock speed and total core count. NVIDIA says the two chips should perform on the same level.

Saints Row IV, Thief and Battlefield 4 all maintained a 30 fps average at ultra high quality, with their lowest frame counts staying in the high twenties. BioShock Infinite did even better; it held a 44 fps average on its highest graphics settings. Even The Witcher 2, a game known for taxing GPUs, toed the line: 33 frames per second at its maximum setting
Though the battery life is not supar as we expected but falls at an average on around 3 hrs but falls short of long-lasting outliers like Razer's third-generation Blade.

 THE WORD :

It's not a Razer Blade , but it plays a significant role in gaming laptops; gamers who want the performance and the capabilties of a desktop ,but want it portable. The MSI GS60 GHOST fits right in between them. It is a thin  and  a performance packed laptop. and most importantly FUN to use.
The  MSI's GS60: the unreleased Ghost Pro configuration. It's everything the current model is and more, teasing enough upgrades to conceivably push the Ghost's performance off the fence of 30 fps gameplay. As is, the GS60 is a solid option for folks looking for a slim gaming rig, but a more powerful, identical machine is just around the corner. So if you are willing to wait and need a much  higher spec the Pro is your choice then, other than that this looks quite promising and delivers too

WORLD'S SMALLEST MOUSE

THUMB TRACK

ThumbTrack is the smallest mouse for a computer ever built.ThumbTrack is a touch ring-mouse controlled by the tip of your thumb. Thumb Track can perform all the functions of the mouse. It is quite similar to FIN except it uses a ring and  FIN is far more advanced and can support even post computer devices.

ThumbTrack uses a touchpad inbuilt in the ring which helps you scroll and even click as the left or right button . There's a physical button which helps you to do the Drag and Drop function. It has all the mouse functions.ThumbTrack uses an inbuilt battery to power it.

As you may know traditional mouse using for long hours can cause compression of a nerve in the wrist which induces a painful sensation near the fingers and other areas of the hand and wrist. The company believe that the product reduces pain and stress caused by the traditional mouse.
The functions are given more detailed below:

Switch On - Press the center button/tracking area for 3 seconds
Navigate - Gently slide your thumb over the main tracking area
Select - 2 touch sensitive buttons and 1 additional button
Scroll - Capacitive Touch-Scrolling for vertical navigation
Switch Off - Press the center button/tracking area for 3 seconds

The company also provides self-adhesive liners and padding for re-sizing the thumb as per the users requirements.ThumbTrack also comes with a Dongle Wireless Receiver which can be connected to your pc and a  Charging Cable as well.ThumbTrack supports OS X 10.6 as well as Windows 7 , 8 and also Linux.

The world's look like it's going to change the use of traditional mouse and this look like a leap in future .ThumbTrack is a far more advanced than it's time. People really love the mouse
as it's simple as well as elegant ,but still ThumbTrack looks a product that could change it as well as have an impact on the industry.

PERES

Ever wondered when you remove the old piece of meat , "is it still fresh ??" .How many times have you questioned yourself this phrase. Will it be a healthy food or be attacked by it.
Should you cook it ??. Shall I grill or toast it.

Well we have a solution now ,Peres a wonderful electric nose which will help you
find if the food is stale or not.Peres sniffs your meat and tells you whether  it is still good to eat.

The Peres is a handheld electronic device that sniffs your old meat and fish for you.
It detects more than 100 volatile organic components.and uses it's result analysis to determine the freshness of the meat.

Just point the device to the meat and click the button. It uses Bluetooth to connect to your smart-phone and a companion app will help you see the results , the graphs  and the indicators.
The app gives you a feeling that it's using science.

Peres is currently part of Indiegogo fundraising campaign, but you can pre-order it from their website.

Peres is a great idea, but still who would buy an electronic nose to smell their old food then simply by a fresh stock of meat !!!
